Preserving Our Pioneer Heritage in the Face of Change

BISHOP, CA -

10/11/2025

The Eastern Sierra’s rugged peaks and wide valleys carry the stories of pioneers, miners, and ranchers who built this region with grit and independence. From the historic mines near Bishop to the family ranches dotting Inyo and Mono Counties, our heritage is a source of pride—and a call to action.

At Sierra Freedom Alliance, we’re committed to honoring this legacy by protecting the traditions and freedoms that define our way of life, especially as progressive groups push agendas that don’t always reflect our values.Today, overregulation and land use restrictions—like those championed by some environmental activist networks—threaten the livelihoods of our farmers and the character of our small towns. We believe in responsible stewardship that balances conservation with the needs of locals, not top-down mandates that ignore our history. Whether it’s defending property rights or celebrating our pioneer roots through community gatherings, we’re here to keep the Sierra’s spirit alive.

Join us in this fight! Follow our blog for updates on local history projects, volunteer opportunities, and ways to speak up at county meetings. Connect with us on Facebook or email ideas to info@sierrafreedomalliance.org. Together, we’ll ensure our heritage endures for generations.
